A dedicated educator, Eri has a deep passion for teaching and practicing traditional outdoor skills. Whether cooking over an open fire, guiding canoeing expeditions, or teaching winter survival techniques, Eri brings timeless knowledge to life in meaningful and practical ways. Growing up along the rugged coast of Maine, Max developed a deep connection to nature from an early age. His passion for wilderness skills began in childhood, driving him to pursue skills in outdoor survival, tracking, wild edibles, friction fire, and crafting tools from stone and other natural materials. Over the years, he has tested his skills in a wide range of environments and conditions, from dense forests to coastal landscapes and frigid winter settings.
As a certified Wilderness Immersion Instructor, Max specializes in teaching primitive and traditional outdoor skills, blending time-honored techniques with hands-on instruction. He has extensive experience guiding students in ancestral fire-making methods, natural shelter construction, cordage and tool crafting, and sustainable foraging practices. His deep knowledge of historical survival techniques from around the world allows him to create immersive learning experiences.
Max has a gift for captivating audiences of all ages, drawing them into his lessons with enthusiasm and ease. His teaching style blends knowledge, creativity, and a deep love for the outdoors, inspiring confidence and curiosity in every participant.

This fur-covered adventurer spends her days chasing squirrels, fetching sticks, and tagging along on as many expeditions that she can. Pamola is the true expert when it comes to outdoor living—whether it’s hiking trails, swimming holes, or just napping in the sun. She’s the official greeter, stick-fetcher, and morale booster at Stone and Steel Outdoors.
